Code of conduct for the congress

In order to promote social, ethical, and environmental responsibility, all congress participants must read and accept the Code of Conduct prior to the event.

This Code establishes clear guidelines for expected behavior during the congress and expressly prohibits:

  • Any form of discrimination.
  • Plagiarism in scientific work.
  • Animal mistreatment.
  • Environmental harm.
  • The presentation of research without proper informed consent.

In addition, the Scientific Committee has adopted a Code of Conduct aligned with international standards, which includes specific ethical principles for the virology community:

  • Rejection of research involving animals or humans without approved ethical review.
  • Commitment to environmental care in the handling of infectious agents.
  • Strict compliance with biosafety regulations for high-risk pathogens.
  • Transparency in authorship and funding sources.
  • The Code will be available both on this website and in the event app. Its enforcement will be overseen by a designated committee, and any violations will be addressed confidentially and in a timely manner.

Furthermore, the congress includes specific rules:

  • Respect assigned time limits for oral presentations.
  • Maintain a respectful attitude during Q&A sessions.
  • Do not photograph slides or posters without the explicit consent of the author.
  • Acknowledging that many presentations will include preliminary or unpublished results, poster presenters will be encouraged to include a QR code to voluntarily and securely share their work.
